These Barbie dolls are produced in quantities limited to 35,000* or less
worldwide and are limited to specific retailers. They feature special
fabrics and details that set them apart from other dolls, and are designed
for collecting and displaying. Each doll comes in showcase packaging that
includes a doll stand and a Certificate of Authenticity. Mattel has
introduced four new collecting levels in 2004 with a little different
distinction for Barbie series:
Platinum Label (limited to 1,000 pieces or less);
Gold Label (limited
to 25,000 pieces or less);
Silver Label (limited to 50,000 pieces but over 25,000);
Pink Label (dolls
are made in greater numbers and available at a variety of stores).
